About this class

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn essential woodworking skills while crafting your very own cigar box guitar (CBG). We’ll focus primarily on hand tools, but you may also gain experience using a drill press, bandsaw, and scroll saw. You will need to be able to read a ruler to a 1/16th of an inch.

Your CBG will feature a solid hardwood neck paired with a fretboard. We’ll be building a traditional three-string guitar equipped with a Piezo pickup and volume knob, allowing you to plug into an amplifier if you wish.

Unleash your creativity as you customize your guitar! You’ll have the opportunity to design the headstock, shape the sound holes, and choose from a wide selection of unique cigar boxes to make your instrument truly one-of-a-kind.​
